As you may know, today is the day Avengers comes out. And as you've probably already figured, GMod Tower is not out for the public yet.

We are still currently fixing many of the reported bugs from the beta and, I'm very sorry to say, we have to push back the release for a week. Yup, that means the closed beta will continue on for at least a week while we sort everything out.

Luckily, we will be doing another raffle tomorrow for more non-donor closed beta participants. You can also donate $15 to get VIP, which will get you access to the closed beta (among other things).  If you've already donated and find yourself not included in the beta, let me know. I am currently setting up old donors (who donated $10+).

So what has been going on in the beta? Well, despite the many bugs, we have been working hard to fix a good chunk of them and are continuing to fix old issues that have plagued the tower for a long while. We have also taken procedures to improve stability of the servers. Players have been more than helpful and have been having a blast in the process.

You heard that right!  GMod Tower is officially coming back online.  Voided and I are currently getting everything back to normal, including the website.  We are also going to be patching a number of bugs along with much needed GMC balancing!

Here's some facts about the revival:

Everyone's stats/suites were reset - Yup, you'll have to start over. Which now that we've raised the GMC payout for all the gamemodes and achievements, it will be easier than the first time. Oh and players will be better respected - no hand outs from admins to "special people".  Everyone has to play to get their items.

Addon installation is much easier - Voided recompiled the modules that were needed to view TV and listen to the radio in GMT. Because of his magic everything you need is all in the addons this time.  No need to worry about loose files anymore!  Note: Those who have the old modules/addons installed need to remove them from their GMod.

New Lobby map in the works - I am currently working on a new lobby with improved suites and better support for events and minigames.  During the first month of this return opening we will be using the old lobby map (build002) until I am done with the new one.

New features -  We have a lot of new features including new activities to do in tower that will surely be worth playing.

VIP/Donation rules have changed - Due to us not having the money to run the servers for more than two months, we have changed donations quite a bit.  In order to be considered a VIP you must donate at least $15 towards our server bills.  VIP will get you a GMC boost, VIP only items store, and VIP forum access.

Less bullshit - We're not putting up with admin abuse bullshit like in the past.  Admins will not be able to run around flaunting their missile launcher death beam from hell.  Our admins will be friendly, helpful, and most of all: fun.

Rabbits are gone - Don't worry, I'm gonna see about working on a similar concept (being able to buy different shirts, etc.)

IP changed - We got a brand spanking new IP.  It is 208.115.210.150:27015.  You can also use join.gmtower.org.  Note: This is THE ONLY SERVER.  Other servers are not affiliated or supported by us and are using an illegal leak of GMT.  Do NOT join or support their servers!

It'll be out soon - As in probably sometime after this week but before the Avengers movie (which is gonna be awesome)



Well that's about all the information I have for you about this.  I'm really glad to be able to say that we're bringing back GMod Tower.  GMT has always been special to me and I am very glad to continue it once again.

I cannot stress this enough: I really need you guys to donate as much as you can (and get others to) so I can continue hosting tower.  I promise to keep it updated and add new content that you all will like.

Lately the majority of us have been busy, but our plans for releasing our gamemodes still exist.  Thanks to Sam, we're getting closer to that point.  I personally feel we haven't given Sam enough credit for his hard work.

One of the main things we wanted to create (even for Phoenix) was a way to select levels after the round ended.  We also wanted to have helpful tips to help new players (and old) learn some of the cool things you can do in our gamemodes.

Sam created an amazing level voter that, well, has everything we could hope for.

It's still a work in progress and we hope to have a waiting GUI so everyone can "queue" up before the round starts, while still in the same server.  We will also have a way to switch your weapon loadout within the gamemode.  We're going to be releasing PVP Battle, along with other GMT gamemodes soon - that way you all can host the gamemodes and enjoy them, even if we no longer have a server of our own.

I just finished installing the new forums.  Yes, you'll have to recreate your account.  Yes, we lost our old forums and all the posts.  That means you'll have to recreate them.  I'm really sorry about that.

This was a result of us losing our license to vBulletin.  Now that we're on Simple Machines Forums, we should never have that issue again.
